  • Our signature media console is the perfect mix of modern and mid-century, and it has it all, whether you’re looking for a tv stand, storage cabinet, or credenza. This piece will fit perfectly into your living room, den, or dining room.

    The slatted doors nest to create a look similar to an antique speaker box (the audiophiles tell us it’s called a tweed grill cloth cover), and they can be nested on a single side, or right in the middle. The piece is made of high-quality layered Baltic birch topped with solid walnut or maple. It’s all real wood here - no particle board, no paper veneer, just layer after layer of real, solid wood.

    Take note that each media console comes with an adjustable shelf on each side - shelf pins included. Holes can be cut in the back for cord management upon request.

    We leave the edges of the media console exposed to highlight the multiple layers, which creates a beautiful, artful, and iconic striping effect, similar to the work of Charles and Raye Eames and Alvar Aalto. In fact - the slats on the doors are made of this same “edge grain” material. And let’s not forget about the legs. Custom made Baltic birch layers, cut on an angle, and a work of art on their own.

  • (01) Baltic Birch & Walnut (or Maple)

    Our furniture is made using a beautiful high-end layered Baltic birch from Columbia Forest Products®. Each of the 13 layers are solid wood, and a thick face of walnut or maple wraps it in rich tones. The Baltic birch is a sustainable product and will be very stable as the seasons change, unlike some solid wood furniture.

    While many furniture makers conceal the edges of the material, we have made it our signature look to highlight the striped layers. Not only does this give a nod to the designers of the mid-century era, it makes every piece by us a work of art, and a unique, one-of-a-kind, creation.

    (02) Finish

    We finish our products with a mixture of pure tung oil, boiled linseed oil and wax. This means less harsh chemicals when we are doing the work, and a safer breathing experience for you. The end result is a durable, water-resistant matte finish that feels like a silky-smooth piece of wood.

    Another benefit to the finish is that it allows for easy repair when scratches happen. Buff out the scratch with a piece of high-grit sandpaper and rub in some Howard Feed-N-Wax® and your piece is as good as new!

  • (01) How do I care for this product?

    Details can be found on our FAQ page. That said, in general, treat the piece with kindness - use coasters, wipe up spills, and don’t put sharp or rough objects on the furniture. A damp cloth is all you need to clean it (definitely no harsh chemicals), and the piece can be refreshed with a bit of furniture wax when needed.

    (02) Does this require assembly?

    No. It will be ready to go upon delivery or pickup.

    (03) Can I customize this piece?

    Please reach out to us before ordering. Some customizations are possible.

  • To create these legs, Baltic birch layers are laminated together and cut at a 45 degree angle. After some work at the router table, we are left with a smooth, lathe-turned look, but something completely unique to our brand.
