Our Wall Shelf is a hit with customers, and we think you’ll love them too. They're mid-century modern styled hexagon shelves arranged in a unique pattern that highlights both the positive and negative space. Though there are 8 shelves, the open space between them makes it feel like so many more!
They’re created by cutting precise angles and using wood glue to adhere the pieces together. We use a round-over router bit to create a smooth and appealing curve to the edges, and our oil and wax finish gives these a rich and inviting look.
Handcrafted in Minneapolis.
Also available as individual shelves here.

(01) Baltic Birch & Walnut (or Maple)
Our furniture is made using a beautiful high-end layered Baltic birch from Columbia Forest Products®. Each of the 13 layers are solid wood, and a thick face of walnut or maple wraps it in rich tones. The Baltic birch is a sustainable product and will be very stable as the seasons change, unlike some solid wood furniture.
While many furniture makers conceal the edges of the material, we have made it our signature look to highlight the striped layers. Not only does this give a nod to the designers of the mid-century era, it makes every piece by us a work of art, and a unique, one-of-a-kind, creation.
(02) Finish
We finish our products with a mixture of pure tung oil, boiled linseed oil and wax. This means less harsh chemicals when we are doing the work, and a safer breathing experience for you. The end result is a durable, water-resistant matte finish that feels like a silky-smooth piece of wood.
Another benefit to the finish is that it allows for easy repair when scratches happen. Buff out the scratch with a piece of high-grit sandpaper and rub in some Howard Feed-N-Wax® and your piece is as good as new!

(01) How do I care for this product?
Details can be found on our FAQ page. That said, in general, treat the piece with kindness - don’t drop the item (this one is all glued joints, so it’s mildly fragile), wipe up spills, and don’t put sharp or rough objects on the piece. A damp cloth is all you need to clean it (definitely no harsh chemicals), and the piece can be refreshed with a bit of furniture wax when needed.
(02) Does this require assembly?
If you’re picking this item up from our studio, or having it delivered locally (free within a 15 mile radius), then it arrives fully assembled. If you’re having the item shipped, it will come in three pieces, but assembly is simple using a hex wrench to connect the 3 sections together - two bolts on each section. Directions will be included with the product. And don’t worry, the bolts become virtually invisible and sit flush with the piece.
(03) Can I customize this piece?
Sorry, no. If you’d like to make your own arrangement, we suggest buying our individual shelves.
(04) How do I hang this item?
We provide brackets or hooks for hanging - your choice, though brackets are more secure. You’ll need to have a screwdriver or screw gun, fasteners specific for your wall (as in, drywall anchors, screws, nails, etc.), and ideally a level and stud-finder. It’s definitely possible to position the unit so that the wall screws or nails are going into the studs (i.e. 32” apart). View the instructions here.
